GLOBAL IMPACT OF AFROFUTURISM

Global Impacts of Afrofuturism explores Afrofuturism as
a global framework for futures thinking, innovation, and
social transformation. Hosted at UC San Diego's Great
Hall, the program examines how Afrofuturist
approaches influence education, technology, health,
climate justice, and cultural production across the
African diaspora and beyond.
This event positions Afrofuturism not only as an artistic
movement, but as a strategic methodology for
reimagining systems, reclaiming historical narratives,
and designing more equitable futures. Through keynote
dialogue, interdisciplinary conversation, and
participatory engagement, attendees are invited to
connect speculative imagination with real-world impact.
